Transport

Transport can either be arranged by yourself or we can arrange it for you. Our Scenic Stores are located a few miles north of Hull. For larger hires we do have vehicles running up and down the country most weeks, these are often multi-drop loads, so we do try to add hires to these loads when we can to keep costs down. Otherwise we continuously strive to achieve the cheapest transport methods for our clients.

Small Hires

For smaller items such as individual props or backdrops we use a courier to deliver and collect, this is the most cost effective shipping method for hires in England, Wales or Scotland. Due to the weight and size of Backcloths, courier costs will be approx £25 - £30 plus VAT each way depending on your location.

To keep the courier costs down, we use a service to deliver between 9am to 5pm mid week. This service can be booked for the next working day. For multiple backdrops or props, we can often use a pallet courier which works out cheaper, for £60 - £110 plus VAT each way, we can ship items that will fit onto a standard pallet to any UK mainland address.

We also have a service for our many hires to Ireland and Jersey. A usual 2 to 3 day turn around is needed for these destinations.

Medium Hires

If a hire requires a man and a van, be it be a Luton or 7.5 tonne, Qdos Entertainment are more than equipped to help and offer great rates for transport. We can arrange these deliveries and collections for any day of the week (Enhanced weekend rates are applicable) whether it be first thing in the morning or late at night. Our skilled transport team will be on hand to assist with the loading and off loading of the hired items.

Large Hires

If a hire requires articulated trailers we can make all the arrangements on your behalf, we receive very competitive rates from our regular transport suppliers which we always pass onto the client.

The cost of loading out from our stores is always included in the hire fee.

The client is responsible for arranging a crew to load in and out at the venue, the driver will not be contracted to assist the offloading or setting up of the set, props etc.

Alternatively the client is welcome to make their own transport arrangements. In order to ensure the vehicle is safe and sufficient to transport scenery the van/trailer details of the clients transport provider will need to be cleared by our transport manager.

Loading out from the Scenic Stores based in Beverley can be done between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday. Special arrangements can be made to load out of office hours, however this may incur an additional charge.
